Take me to Edinburgh

Le Balmoral Edinburgh Scotland

Last weekend I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days in Edinburgh. I couldn't wait to catch the train and visit everything I could in the Scottish capital, and I wasn't disappointed! This city has so much character you can easily tell it overflows with life. That day, the weather was quite warm and cafés really busy; that's why being on my own this time made me feel a wee bit lonely in honesty, as I would have loved to sit down and enjoy a drink and Scottish pastries with friends. But no worries, because soon the charm of Edinburgh's architecture and main attractions were enough to set my mind back on track to my natural enthusiasm.

After my arrival at a lovely Airbnb rental (located 10 minutes away on foot from the city centre), I decided to skim through everything I wanted to catch a glimpse of. I had prepared my wee trip but wished to keep things simple and not visit locations on the clock, well because Sundays don't call for stress but tranquil strolls, don't they? I had a peek at Google Maps, grabbed my backpack and rushed out into a welcoming sunny street.

I walked around and took a few shots of the city all-day long, taking my time to take in its gorgeous architecture and a stunning view of its rooftops at Calton Hill. When visiting Edinburgh, you can't miss the Royal Mile and the Old City, the Scottish Parliament, Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh Castle and many others. This post is about sharing a few pictures of mine with you, not giving any advice on where to go or eat but still, I truly hope it will make you want to visit this extraordinary city

  1. Ahh you're pictures are beautiful! I'm hardly ever in Edinburgh- it's always so busy and full of tourists but those pictures made me want to go back and explore it all again! I feel like I don't know the city at all really and I should remedy that :)

  4. Ahhh, Margaux - your Edinburgh pictures bring me back to good memories :') I visited 1.5 years ago and loved it all as well! My favourite was the Botanical gardens (it wasn't in full bloom but still so gorgeous) and the interactive science museum Our Dynamic Earth. It really is a world of its own, and much much more tranquil where I'm at at the moment ha...

Just discovered your blog, love it ;-)
